Part 1: The Challenge Begins
Aanya and Kabir had been best friends since college, always teasing, always challenging each other. One evening, as they sat in their favorite diner, Kabir smirked, "I bet you can’t go a whole month without catching feelings for me."
Aanya rolled her eyes. “Please. If anything, you’ll be the one falling for me.”
“Alright then,” he leaned in, voice low. “Whoever falls first… buys dinner for a year.”
And just like that, the most dangerous bet of their friendship began.
Part 2: The First Signs
The first few days were easy—flirty texts, teasing glances, playful dares. But soon, things started changing. Kabir found himself watching Aanya laugh a little longer, noticing the way she tucked her hair behind her ear.
One night, when she fell asleep on his shoulder during a movie, his heart did something weird. He shook it off. It’s just the bet… right?
Part 3: Close Calls
Aanya wasn’t unaffected either. When Kabir pulled her close during a dance at a friend’s party, she felt an unfamiliar warmth spread through her.
“Still not falling?” he whispered in her ear, his breath tickling her skin.
She smirked, hiding the fact that her heart was racing. “Not even close.”
Part 4: The Jealousy Twist
Things took a turn when Kabir saw Aanya laughing with a guy at the café. He clenched his jaw. Why does this bother me?
Later that night, he sent a text. "Dinner tomorrow? Just us."
Aanya raised an eyebrow at her screen, smirking. Oh, someone’s feeling possessive.
Post 5: The Almost Kiss
On a late-night walk, they stopped under the streetlights. “You know,” Kabir said, stepping closer, “if I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re losing.”
Aanya looked up, her pulse quickening. “Prove it.”
For a second, he almost did—his lips hovered over hers, breaths mingling. But then he smirked and pulled away. “Not yet.”
Part 6: The Moment of Truth
Aanya stared at Kabir, frustrated. She wanted him to kiss her. Wait… wanted?
And just like that, she realized she had lost.
The next night, she walked into the diner, placed a menu in front of him, and sighed. “Fine. I lost. One year of free dinners for you.”
Kabir grinned, but then, without warning, he leaned across the table and kissed her. Soft. Slow. Perfect.
When he pulled away, he whispered, “Joke’s on you. I lost a long time ago.”
Part 7: The Happy Ending
Aanya laughed, shaking her head. “So… now what?”
Kabir smirked. “Now? You still owe me a year of dinners. But we can call it… date nights.”
She rolled her eyes but took his hand. “Deal.”
And just like that, their bet turned into the greatest love story of their lives.
